About Us

Süleyman Demirel University’s Institute of Health Sciences was established following the university’s founding law (Law No. 3737, published in the Official Gazette on July 11, 1992, and numbered 21281), with official approval by the Higher Education Council granted on February 25, 1993, and permission to commence operations on December 27, 1994. The Institute initiated its graduate programs in the Spring Semester of the 1994-1995 academic year with four PhD and three master's students. As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Institute offers doctoral programs in 8 departments at the Faculty of Dentistry, master’s programs in 11 departments and doctoral programs in 10 departments at the Faculty of Medicine, master’s programs in 5 departments and doctoral programs in 2 departments at the Faculty of Health Sciences, one master’s and one doctoral program at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, and a master’s program at the Faculty of Pharmacy. In total, the Institute provides doctoral programs in 21 departments and master's programs in 18 departments. Currently, the Institute has 221 students, including 125 master's and 96 PhD students, and has produced 443 graduates in total, with 241 master’s and 202 PhD graduates. The academic staff consists of 56 professors, 32 associate professors, and 59 assistant professors, amounting to 147 faculty members in total.
